What is an Asset?
An asset is a file or document that is used and stored as part of the creative process. This can be anything from artwork files, print files, patterns, 3D files, legal documents, DXF files, etc.
Can any role book prints?
No, only the Print Designer may book prints. However, this does not stop other roles from viewing, sharing or downloading low resolution versions from the Library.
I am a Print Designer and I am viewing a file in the Library but I cannot book it. Why is that?
Please make sure that the asset you are trying to book is a representative asset. Representative assets that are attached to a print can not be booked.
What is a Representative Asset?
A Representative Asset is the definitive asset that is found in the Library or in the Workspace. It is what seperates the file to be used from the work files or legal files that may be attached with it. If we take prints for example, then it is the file that will be used on a product.
Can I check out any print with Asset Link?
If you are a Print Designer then yes, provided that you are checking out a print that has first been booked.
If I check out a print with Asset Link, can other colleagues also work on it?
No, checking out a print ensures that only you have access to work on it. Once you are done, you must check it back into CreatiVault to make it freely available for use.
